Referring to your Despatch No. 5 of the 5th.

January regarding the death of Prison Warder W. J. May, I have

the honour to state that there is due to this officer's estate a

sum of 8159.09, being the sum refunded in respect of his contribut-

-ions to the Widows and Orpahns' Pensions Fund.

As Mr. May died while in Military Service

administration of his estate cannot be taken out locally; and I

;accordingly enclose a draft for £14 9 2, being the sterling

equivalent of $159.09 for transmission to the proper quarter.
